Common Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

People seek therapy for all types of reasons. Typically, therapy is helpful for people who are feeling stuck, want to make changes to their lives but don't know where to start, or those looking to gain greater insight about themselves. Sometimes people fear that their problems aren't "serious enough" for therapy. If you could benefit from the support of another person, therapy is right for you.

Are your sessions in-person or virtual?

I provide both in-person sessions in the Sloan's Lake area of Denver and virtual sessions via a secure video platform. Some clients choose to take advantage of both options, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your schedule and comfort.

How do I get started?

I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation phone or video call. We can discuss your goals and see if we are a good fit to work together. Or, some clients prefer to just go ahead and schedule a first session. Either way, finding a therapist that you click with is an essential aspect of meaningful change, and you get to decide who that may be.

What is your approach to therapy?

My approach to therapy is relational, compassionate, and practical. If you are looking for a "blank slate" therapist (someone who responds neutrally and does not offer their own insight) - that's not me! I find value in showing up as myself in the therapy room, offering empathy and warmth, and challenging you to grow and change to embrace the life you really want.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance providers, but your insurance plan may still cover all or a portion of your session fees. To see if your plan has coverage, contact your insurance provider and ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.

Additionally, I accept HSA and FSA cards for session fees.
